Tarte Foundation 😱 // my real opinion

As many of you may have heard, Tarte has recently released a new Shape Tape full coverage foundation to be paired with their off the charts rating of the concealer.

With the new foundation out, much controversy has been shared about the color range. Looking at the picture above - you can see the giant amount of light colors but barely any darker colors. While Tarte stated they were releasing 5 more colors, we don't know the shades of them. This situation caused much controversy over the racism stand point. I do not agree with how Tarte handled the situation and they should have included more darker skin tones. However, this review is also more about the product itself.

With that said, Tarte released 2 different types of this foundation. Hydrating- for dryer skins and Matte- for more oily skins. From my opinion with a combination skin- I found that the matte dried very quickly on my skin making it hard to blend. I thought it dried out most of my face and by the end of the day, it made me feel very cakey. The hydrating foundation also dried very quickly and didn't seem very full coverage. From my point, I was disappointed in this foundation but feel free to try it out.
